DOCTOR WHO: NEW BEGINNINGS

This collection of episodes focuses on the transition of doctors played by Tom Baker and Peter Davidson, across three stories - 'The Keeper Of Traken', 'Logopolis' and 'Castrovalva'.

DOCTOR WHO - TIME-FLIGHT AND ARC OF INFINITY

Two stories based around the character of Tegan, this union of Time-Flight and Arc of Infinity is an interesting double header for any Doctor Who enthusiast. Both stories see Peter Davison in the title role. Time-Flight's big selling point is Concorde, as the Doctor gets Tegan to Heathrow Airport, only to discover that the infamous supersonic jet is caught in a muddle with a time corridor. Arc of Infinity, meanwhile, takes the Doctor back into the midst of the Time Lords, only to discover that one of them has chosen him to be the victim of a strange creature. This creature can only survive by bonding with a Time Lord, and when the High Council of Time Lords rules that the Doctor has to be killed, the scene is set for an interesting mystery.

DOCTOR WHO - SURVIVAL

The original series ran from 1963 and culminated in SURVIVAL in 1989; a story that would be the show's last until being revived in 1996. Having taken Ace to the present in order for her to visit her friends, the Doctor soon discovers that they have been shanghaied by the cat-like Kitlings, and transported through space to their home planet. Arriving on the planet, it soon becomes clear that the kidnapping had been undertaken in order to set a trap for the Doctor.

DOCTOR WHO - TIMELASH

The planet Karfel is ruled by a cruel tyrant, the Borad. When the Doctor arrives he is asked to rescue a woman, Vena, who has been cast out through a time tunnel known as the Timelash. If he refuses, the life of his companion, Peri, is forfeit.

RESURRECTION OF THE DALEKS

Weakened by a Movellan virus the Daleks assault a space station prison where Davros is being held. The Daleks plan to use duplicates of the Doctor and his companions to assassinate leading Timelords, and further duplicates to take over the Earth. The action is split between the space station and abandoned London riverside warehouses, and is notable for its grim tone and high body count

MARK OF THE RANI

In 19th century England, the Doctor finds himself facing two competing enemies: his old adversary the Master, and the Rani, another Time Lord with a sinister plan. The local population and turning violent and unpredictable and, with a major meeting of the brains of the Industrial Revolution due to happen in the village soon, the Doctor must work out what exactly is causing all the problems

REVELATION OF THE DALEKS

One of the best featuring Colin Baker, although the story focuses on Davros mainly.

DOCTOR WHO - THE MOVIE

Transporting the remains of the Master, Sylvester McCoy's Seventh Doctor is diverted to San Francisco in 1999. Regenerating in the form of Paul McGann, the Doctor gains a new companion in heart surgeon Dr Grace Holloway (Daphne Ashbrook) and must stop the Master from destroying the world

EARTHSHOCK

The TARDIS arrives in the 26th Century in a cave system containing numerous dinosaur fossils. The Doctor's Party comes under suspicion from a military force, led by Lieutenant Scott, who are investigating the disappearance of a group of palaeontologists and geologists. They are all then attacked by androids - the true culprits - under the control of the Cybermen. The Doctor manages to deactivate a bomb intended by the Cybermen to destroy an imminent peace conference. He then follows the bomb's activating signal to an approaching space freighter, commanded by captain Briggs, on board which it transpires that an army of Cybermen are concealed. An attempt by Adric to thwart the Cybermen's plans result in the freighter being inadvertently sent millions of years into the past, where it explodes and causes the extinction of the dinosaurs - and also the death of Adric

REMEMBRANCE OF THE DALEKS

It is 1963, and the Seventh Doctor, Sylvester McCoy arrives in London with new companion Ace (Sophie Aldred), where two Dalek factions are engaged in a deadly search for the Hand of Omega

GHOST LIGHT

In 1883 the Doctor takes Ace to a house called Gabriel Chase in her home town of Perivale. Josiah Samuel Smith lives in the house but he turns out to be the evolved form of an alien who was brought to Earth in a stone spaceship which is in the basement of the house. Another member of the house is Redvers Fenn-Cooper who is out of his mind with what he has seen but Smith wants his help in killing Queen Victoria and restoring the British Empire to its former glory. Ace releases the spaceship's true owner - a powerful alien known as Light - who originally came to Earth to compile a catalogue of its species

VENGEANCE OF VAROS

One of the most popular of Colin Baker's adventures, Vengeance on Varos finds the Doctor and Peri involved with rebels in a 1984-like world, where televised torture is used to support and enforce an unworkable regime ruling a mining society on the planet Varos

THE FIVE DOCTORS

The assorted incarnations of the Doctor (together with a scattering of assistants) are drawn together through time and space to battle Daleks, Cybermen, Yeti--those weird androids which keep jumping into the air and disappearing--and many other old foes. They realise that they're on their home planet of Gallifrey and must eventually deal with the legacy of Rassilon, founder of the Time Lords

THE CURSE OF FENRIC

This is one of the best Sylvester McCoy stories. The plot craftily borrows from John Carpenter’s 1979 chiller The Fog. Guest stars Nicholas Parsons as a vicar

THE VISITATION

England, 1666 – the darkest days of the Great Plague. When the Doctor and his companions step from the TARDIS into a land gripped by fear and mistrust, they soon discover that they are not the only new arrivals. Strange lights have been seen in the sky, the Grim Reaper stalks the local woods and evidence of advanced technology is all around

THE TWO DOCTORS

This adventure starts encouragingly enough, with Troughton and Jamie (Frazer Hines) investigating time-travel experiments on a space station, which endanger the fabric of the universe. Baker's Doctor and Peri (Nichola Bryant) arrive in the aftermath of a massacre and suspect the Timelords; but events lead them to Spain and old enemies the Sontarans

THE CAVES OF ANOROZANI

Deep within the titular caves the disfigured, masked antihero Sharez Jek and his regiment of androids are locked in conflict with an army unit and a group of smugglers. At stake is control of the life-extending Spectrox, with plenty of subplots involving espionage, betrayal and revenge as well as big-business corruption, political assassination and silly looking reptilian monsters. When the Doctor and Peri enter this labyrinth they immediately become victims of deadly Spectrox poisoning
