This is a family friendly website. The technical content is pitched at a novice level and is current scientific thinking. We encourage children to get involved with science - that doesn't mean learning loads of facts, it means having a mind that constantly asks "why?" and a drive to find the answer. Science should be fun and entertaining and so, in addition to discussing the true science behind popular science fiction, this site also recommends scientific games and toys. It is only through trying things with your own hands that you really learn.

As parents ourselves, one recent success we have had is with the Amazon Kindle. Our children were not reading as much as they should but when we bought them Kindles we can't stop them reading book after book.
