It suddenly occured to me that I really enjoy taking a walk at night in the rain. Please bear with me, as there are all kinds of arguments about safety, not to mention getting wet, but the fundamental fact is that walking at night in the rain is enjoyable. It transforms the familiar world. The rain hushes the usual sounds, turning streets into calm corridors. The air carries that cool, earthy scent that only arrives with rainfall. In the darkness you feel both hidden and free — as if the world has briefly paused just for you. Am I the only one that thinks this?
