Conan the destroyer (1984)
Conan returns—older, wiser, and still swinging steel with the fury of a storm. This time, he’s drawn into a quest by Queen Taramis of Shadizar, who promises to resurrect his lost love if he escorts her niece, Princess Jehnna, on a sacred mission. The task? Retrieve a magical gem and restore a jeweled horn to awaken the dreaming god Dagoth. But as always, there’s more to the deal than meets the eye.
Joined by his loyal (and comically chatty) companion Malak, the fierce warrior Zula, the mystical wizard Akiro, and the towering bodyguard Bombaata—whose loyalty may not be as solid as his muscles—Conan battles through enchanted fortresses, mirror-bound beasts, and treacherous allies. Each step of the journey reveals hidden motives and ancient dangers, culminating in a showdown with a god reborn as a monstrous titan.
Unlike the brooding tone of the first film, Conan the Destroyer leans into high fantasy with a splash of camp and a cast that includes Grace Jones, Wilt Chamberlain, and Olivia d’Abo. It’s a tale of loyalty, deception, and the eternal clash between brute strength and divine ambition.
